The Motherhood Series: Simply Annie -
So here we take the last installment of The Motherhood Serial. And what a neat way to finish it. Annie from Simply Annie is simply amazing (run into what I did there?) and I'm then glad she was willing to share her Moherhood thoughts. She has a wonderful bulletin to share.
What I have learned….
When I was meaning I went through what, I think, every other woman who is nigh to have a baby goes through…especially their showtime baby. The worry, the excitement, the fear, the anxiety. What if I don't exercise it right? Will I be a good mom? Will I raise a adept person? I went into motherhood with the obvious cognition of the fact that information technology's sleepless nights, lots of diapers, and exhausting. Simply while I was pregnant I was also told how motherhood will exist for me. That information technology will be scary, hard, daunting, even miserable… I was made to call back that it's only awful to be honest.
One thing I take learned since this journeying started is that motherhood is many, many things and no one person or piece of advice can capture it all. Nor can anyone tell you how existence a parent will be for Y'all. In ane 24-hour interval y'all experience like you've done everything and null all at the same time. Y'all express mirth, you lot cry, you sigh, you smiling and yous yawn. You wake up every forenoon not knowing what your day will hold, and I find that to be beautifully cluttered but at times it tin can be stressful likewise. One week will be perfect elation and the adjacent y'all will have non sleeping teething infant and an ear infection ridden devil child. Every. Single. Day. Is different. And then is every unmarried person.
The other nighttime I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and making a bottle all while Lil was on my hip and I said "maternity is being able to cook, hold a babe and make a bottle". I said this jokingly, but then my husband and I started to barrack dorsum and forth naming things that motherhood is… we hit just the tip of the iceberg.
The good, the bad, the disgusting and everything in between.
Motherhood is: learning to live on a few hours of sleep each night and and so sleeping so lightly that a infant rolling over wakes yous. Existence able to hold ii boot legs and wipe poop off a beautiful bare bottom all at once. Being able to move at lightspeed during a one hr nap to get as much done as possible… two loads of laundry, the dishes, trash, shower, bank check! The ability to do anything one handed… and I mean anything. Squeezing in a conditioning in your living room… even if that workout is squatting downwards to option upwardly toys. Or not going to the gym for days and not caring. Information technology is non caring when you're covered in boogers and drool considering that meant you got a good hug in plus it's just role of your outfits at present. Learning to fill a shopping cart around the carseat… or as my friend calls it shopping cart tetris. It is giving up the meridian rack in the dishwasher to launder all the bottles, bowls, cups, lids… etc. It is stepping on legos and tripping over balls. It is rubbing in diaper cream and calling your spouse to come up see the color or the poop in the diaper. It is being pooped, peed and puked on… and all you can practise is express joy, and so shower. It is wishing a nap lasted but 30 minutes longer… only because you're tired too. Motherhood is pretending yous don't see the baby pooping in hopes that your spouse will change the diaper get-go.
Motherhood is: having no space left on your phone because it'south total of besides many cute baby pictures. It is trips to the aquarium and zoo with your friends merely because you can. It gives yous the chance to buy all the ambrosial babe clothes that you e'er oggle over in Target. It is seeing the world through a set of eyes completely unburdened by anything. Motherhood is knowing you're growing your own family and starting a wonderful life for them. It is knowing that you can create happy memories that will concluding a lifetime. Information technology is the hope in the future because you'll practice your best to raise a good person. Motherhood is a deep abiding beloved that tin can never be replaced. It is a selfless act because it means letting a piece of your center walk outside of your body. Information technology is a happiness that can never be explained.
Motherhood is waking upwards every day and doing the best that you can and existence excited for a new day. Motherhood is not about beingness perfect, there is no such thing. It'south not about doing what every other mother does… even though comparison is our worst enemy. It is so easy to criticize and compare. To judge and to tear other people down. But who cares what everyone else thinks!? Who cares if you're not doing it perfectly!? No one tin can tell you how your experience in motherhood or parenting should be, no i! If y'all love being a mother, own information technology! If you don't dear being a mother, own it. If you accept days of greatness and days of mundane, own it.
Ain information technology all!
